Live free: Honor Your Parents
The Fifth Commandments is to “Honor your father and mother.” For some, the thought is uplifting. For others, it’s devastating. Yet the Bible provides no qualification or exception based on what they’ve done. It’s all about what you do! The path of abundant life includes honoring your parents. This Sunday we’ll discover just what this means, and looks like for you!

Signs for Life: Begin One Way
Jesus has come to offer us the path of life abundant and eternal. Jesus’ resurrection is not just a victory over sin, hell and death. It is an invitation to join Him on the path of life. Jesus opens up a new road that before was not available to us. This road leads us to glory, where we will live only in perfection. In glory, we will live only one way. It’s a journey we start now, today! Happy Easter!

Signs for Life: Curves Ahead (Palm Sunday)
Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble.” Jesus said that His way was steep, and narrow, and hard. Then, Jesus headed toward Jerusalem to take up His cross. He calls to His disciples, “Take up your cross and follow me.” When we do, we find that there are great blessings during the curves!

Signs of Life: Do Not Enter
We try to stay on God’s way, and yet, while on God’s highway, we tend to drift a bit. We try to stay centered on God, but we are attracted to other paths. We must heed the “Do Not Enter” signs! God’s path is a calling to stay close to the center line. We seek to live pure, holy and perfect lives.

    Signs for Life: Speed Limit
The Speed Limit road sign is a spiritual reminder to travel at a speed that God prescribes, not at the speed we want. It means trusting God with our lives, a contentment to do it God’s way: not being too complacent, and not to be too impatient. This Sunday we’ll see how God’s speed is the best speed for us . . . and for those around us!

    Signs for Life: No Outlet
The world is full of paths. Its full of roads. It’s full of options. But not all of them lead the abundant life that God intends. In fact, most don’t. So, of all the roads laid out before us, we must be very careful. Not all paths are OK. Some are very destructive. Others do not help us make any progress. Others are total dead ends. We long for life that is full and exciting and powerful and everlasting. We want a journey that goes far beyond the end of our earthly lives. Jesus offers us the finish we long for. So to find our way, we look forward to that, look forward to Him, and then make our way from there.

    Signs for Life: Stop
God has given us a map (the Bible) for our lives’ journey on the path of life. God also provides us with signs along the way that tell us  exactly where we are, what’s around us, and which direction we are going: signs that point out the way; signs that tell us to steer clear of danger; signs that help us avoid the wrong way and to stay on the right path. On Ash Wednesday, we stop. We stop to get oriented, remember our destination and check our course. God calls us to stop sinning, and to recharge.

Set Free to Not Take the Name of the Lord in Vain
What’s in a name? Our names come from our parents. Either they chose it because they liked the name or it had special meaning, perhaps in the family. In the Bible, names describe the person, and using a name shows familiarity and connection. This Sunday we look at the 3rd of the 10 Commandments, where God forbids us to use His name without meaning. Why? Because His name shows familiarity and connection. We’ll discover how using God’s name with meaning brings meaning to our lives!

Set Free to Have No Idols
At first glance, the second of the Ten Commandments seems easy for us: Don’t make any idols. But when we’re honest, we soon realize that we make all kinds of idols. The antidote is authentic worship. So, come this Sunday expecting to turn your face to God in true worship!

Set Free to Love God First
The first of the 10 Commandments is the key: Make God first in your life. We may have God in our lives, but we struggle keeping Him first. Yet when we don’t, we suffer. God’s plan for our best life is only possible when we put Him above everything else. This Sunday, come ready to do just that!
“Jesus replied, ‘‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.’” - Matthew 22:37-38.

    Set Free Love God
As we begin a new year, we commit again to the plan God has given us for living well. So, we go back to the 10 Commandments as God’s intended path for how we should live in order to live best. They are not antiquated or “downer” rules. They unlock abundant life. Our message series looks as the first four of these commandments, rules that focus our love singularly on God. From this foundation our future is built!

Songs of Salvation – Songs of Christmas
We’re coming up to Christmas now, merely days away. And from this close, we begin to see that the joy of Christmas comes with a dark side. The baby born on Christmas came to bring salvation, but that means He had to die on a cross. This Sunday we’ll learn to sing the songs of Christmas not with shallow merryment, but with a thread of lament.
