MINISTRY COORDINATOR
Love, Grow & Serve are the focus areas for everything that Forest Hills United Methodist Church is and does. We are a church that loves Christ and believes these are three biblical expressions of God’s character. We are seeking to hire a part-time (30 hrs/wk) Ministry Coordinator to join our church staff. This person will assist the lead pastor with preparation of weekly worship materials (printed & video), lead the church youth group, and help support community outreach and daily church operations. A person who is organized, has a heart for youth and enjoys job variety while working as part of a team will thrive in this position.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Church Marketing and Community Outreach
Work with church leadership to develop a community outreach plan to enhance/maintain Forest Hill’s online social media presence and church website
 Work with pastor and church staff to film, edit and post weekly sermon videos and other content
 Communicate and market special events hosted by Forest Hills Church
 Utilize design skills to create and print posters, flyers, brochures, etc.
 Archive sermon and church life videos for future reference
Youth Education Ministry
 Teach and plan weekly youth group for grades 7-12 on Wednesday evenings during the school year
 Assist with planning and implementation of the annual youth and family mission trip
Church Administrative & Ministry Support
 Assist lead pastor with preparation of weekly bulletin, sermon notes, sermon slides and other tasks as needed in support of weekly church worship services
 Be a friendly presence in the front office (answer phones/emails, service walk-ins, maintain supplies)
 Create and distribute weekly congregational emails and oversee publication of monthly newsletter
 Coordinate building usage and publish weekly calendar of meetings and events
 Basic accounting and bookkeeping
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
 Must have a high school diploma; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
 Must possess an active and growing faith in Jesus Christ.
 Must be open to prayer and lead a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry
 Experience working with youth or as a youth leader/mentor
 Experience with (or willingness to learn) video production, social media marketing, basic website and/or design software tools
 Willingness to express creativity while maintaining organization
 Ability to multi-task in an environment with a variety of responsibilities
 Self-motivated with strong personal time management skills
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 Strong communication skills-written, verbal, interpersonal
HOURS & PAYSCALE
 30 hours/week: flexible office hours, Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings and special events
 $18-$20/hour based on experience; salaried
 Position start date: June/July, 2024
