Wrestling with the Tough Stuff of Life

Description: Christians have struggles in life like everyone else. In fact, sometimes it’s harder to live as a person of faith. We have to deal with our past, where we’ve been, and who we want to be. Yet Christians have power from God. Join Pastor Dan as he explores Scripture how to have victory in the struggles of our lives. Lessons include: Dealing with my doubts, criticism, wanting power to deal with criticism, failure, hurt, and putting my hurt behind me.

Description: The group will discuss the Sunday morning message. We will be able to ask questions as well as share insights, reflections and applications for our faith and lives.
Details: The manuscript of the message will be available the Wednesday before for group participants to read if they would like. Hearing the message in worship is preferred but not required

Description: The primary goal of this group is to have open discussion on leading topics of today, including separation of church and state, religion and science, abortion, death penalty and police reform, race, human sexuality, women and the church. The goal of the group is not to force a specific perspective but to openly discuss and engage on these topics using though thought-provoking questions, including:
• How should Christians approach politics in America?
• Are Creation and evolution incompatible?
• Would Jesus support the death penalty and police reform?
• Why are Sunday mornings still the most segregated time in America?

Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White: Thoughts on Religion, Morality and Politics

Description: Everyone agrees that America is polarized, with ever-hardening positions held by people less and less willing to listen to one another. No one agrees on what to do about it. One solution that hasn’t yet been tried, says Adam Hamilton, is for thinking persons of faith to model for the rest of the country a richer, more thoughtful conversation on the political, moral and religious issues that divide us.

Unfailing: Standing Strong on God’s Promises in the Uncertainties of Life

On seven ways God will sustain you when life is hard. Participants will be encouraged to stand strong in the face of adversity and be challenged to understand your spiritual posture as one of victory.

Star Wars – A New Hope: Using Star Wars to Share your Faith

Description: In the first installment of this new grow group, we will focus on Episode IV: A New Hope through the lens of the study book by Eric S. Gale entitled Using Star Wars To Share Your Faith: 9 Lessons From A New Hope as well as through the film itself. We will explore not only how to begin to share our faith with others but also the deeper questions of who and what the Holy Spirit is, who and what we put our hope in, sharing the “foolishness” of the Cross, and the unexpected ways we find salvation. Our ten-week journey through a galaxy far, far away begins this fall!
Details: We will use clips from PG-13 rated films, some of them containing scary images or violence. Weekly handouts will be provided.

Description: In Echo, we want to make disciples of all ages. Adults and kids come together with a revamped curriculum, an adjusted schedule and a team teaching approach! In Echo we will become “Trackers of Truth” seeking out and applying God’s word to our lives. Step into leadership and help teach the Bible to the next generation! We want to have adults join this group to take on the challenge (and joy) of teaching a leading our kids. This group will work with Pastor Andrew to plan and teach our new curriculum for Wednesday nights. This is a great opportunity to grow in your own knowledge and faith!

Cherish: The One Word That Changes Everything for Your Marriage

Description: In our marriage vows, we promise to love and cherish each other, so why do we talk so much about love and so little about cherish? The theme of this study is this: through the biblical act of proper cherishing, we can empower our spouses to become who they are called by God to be, and in the process can see ourselves becoming more of who we are called to be, creating a marriage that feels more precious, more connected, and more satisfying. The God who cherishes the imperfect us can teach us and empower us to cherish our imperfect spouses.
