John 11:38-44

Jesus raised a man named Lazarus from the dead. He did it not to help Lazarus (although it certainly did help him!), but to help His followers believe in Him. Jesus proves He’s worthy of following. In what ways do you need Jesus to come and bring new life to you? What in your life is dead and needs raising? Come this Sunday to hear how the Jesus who raised Lazarus will also raise you. Your faith will be strengthened and you will be lifted up!

Who are your stretcher-bearers?

This Sunday we’re taking a look at a story when a paralyzed man is brought to Jesus for healing by friends who carried him on a stretcher. Who helps you when you are in need of help? Who helps you get to where you need to go? Who carries you to God when you need healing? We can’t go it alone, you know. Jesus intended us to have friends who will be our “stretcher-bearers.” Come this Sunday

There are still two more voices of Christmas echoing in the air. Come hear King Herod's voice of deception as he fears the new kingdom that Jesus establishes. Yet he does not understand that Jesus is not an earthly king. His kingdom is not of this world. We also struggle to understand how Jesus is our king. The magi bring the voice of adoration, as they bow down to worship the new king. This is our response to Christmas. We come to worship Him, too.

This Sunday is our big Christmas concert, with choir, orchestra, skits by the kids, and carols. You don’t want to miss it! There will also be a guest appearance from Joseph, the human father of Jesus. Joseph, a simple carpenter, brings the voice of reason amid the twelve voices of Christmas we hear this year. Christmas challenges our reason, our thinking. It forces us to look at things differently. God is doing things that don’t necessarily make sense. Come hear how in Christmas, God challenges you to rethink your life, and shows you what you couldn’t see before!

We will hear two voices of Christmas this Sunday. One is Zechariah, the voice of disbelief. The other is Elizabeth, the voice of blessing. We hear these two voices in our lives in this coming month,  and as we hear their message of what Christmas is truly about, our disbelief is turned into blessing. Matthew 25:21,23

Tony Stark is a handsome, genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist. Yet, his life is aimless, until he realizes he needs to stop selfishly squandering all he has been given on his own pleasure and amusement and instead use his resources and his very life to help others. Stark’s change of heart (pun intended, as he has a critical heart condition!) helps us think through our own stewardship of what God has given us. Each of us is rich in our own way. How are we using our money, our mind and talents, our relationships, and our health to glorify God and serve others heroically? (P.S. And, we also have a suit of armor - check out Ephesians 6!)
